BCIS webinar – Construction: what does the Autumn Budget mean for the industry?

Published: 15/11/2024

With the ink now dry on Rachel Reeves’ first budget, the country has a clearer idea of how the Chancellor plans to plug the fiscal blackhole. But between the National Insurance hikes and ongoing lack of any government commitment to major infrastructure projects, the construction industry has been left wondering how the policies announced will ‘get Britain building again’. This is a particularly tough reality to face, in light of ISG’s collapse – confirmation for the sector that even the largest of firms can struggle.

In this post-Budget webinar, our chief economist Dr David Crosthwaite and chief data officer Karl Horton discuss what substance there is to Reeves’ pledge; and share their thoughts on what strategies the government could employ, to give our industry the support it requires to thrive.
